Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos Methyl Update

Chlorpyrifos (sometimes referred to as Chlorpyrifos-ethyl) and Chlorpyrifos-methyl are insecticides used to control insect pests on a range of crops. Chlorpyrifos-methyl is also used to treat stored cereal grain and empty warehouses

Commission Regulation (EU) 2020/1085 was published on 23rd July and its corrigendum on the 24th July stating that the default MRL for Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos methyl will default to LOD – 0.01mg/kg from the 13th November.

Please note that the grace period set for the approval of these two active substances was 16 April 2020.
